ESPN Writer and Sports Broadcasting Alum Ryan McGee Visits WUTK
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Homecoming Game weekend took on a personal note for alumnus Ryan McGee (’93), who returned to a place that was like home to him during his time as a student at the College of Communication and Information: WUTK studios.
“It’s awesome, the great thing about being back at the radio station is that I know it’s updated, but it looks exactly the same—maybe the stickers have changed, so as an old dude, it makes me feel good, I know where I’m going,” McGee said with a chuckle.
Scripps Lab Theater Named for Ed Ingle
The College of Communication and Information named the theater in the Scripps Convergence Lab for longtime Board of Visitors member and former chair Ed Ingle (BS/Communications ’83) during the virtual BOV spring meeting on April 16.
Ingle was honored as a Torchbearer when he graduated from UT with a degree in journalism in 1983. He was a Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Cabinet Secretary in The White House from 2001-03. He then served 16 years with Microsoft as the General Manager of Government Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Alumnus Larry Patrick Named Giant of Broadcasting
CCI alumnus and Honorary Board of Visitors member Larry Patrick was honored as one of the 2019 Giants of Broadcasting and Electronic Arts by the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation.
Patrick and his fellow honorees, Connie Chung, Peter Dunn, Lester Holt, Paula Kerger, Alfred C. Liggins III, Mark Pedowitz, Mark Richer, and Julie Talbott, were recognized at an awards ceremony in New York City on November 14, 2019.

Board of Visitors Updates for 2019-20
The College of Communication and Information welcomed seven new and five continuing members to the CCI Board of Visitors Class of 2022.
New members include: Janna Abraham (’01), Jeff Boyd (’92), Snigdha Dhar (’11), Brad Lampley (’96, ’00), Leslie Osborne (’97), Anthony Smith (’98, 00), and Alaka Williams. Continuing members are: Bonnie Carroll, Jeff Copeskey (’82, ’86), Alisa Harrison (’83), Marcellus Turner (’88), and John T. Williams (’71).

Room 316 Named for Advertising Leader David Bohan
The College of Communication and Information named Room 316 in the Communications Building for longtime Board of Visitors member and advertising leader David Bohan (BS/Business Administration ’70) on October 11 during the BOV fall meeting.
Bohan is the founder and chairman of BOHAN Advertising, a top full-service advertising firm based in Nashville since 1990. For decades, he has been a strong supporter of CCI and the University of Tennessee and has also given extensively to his community and profession.
