Courtney Wright Receives 2021 Excellence in Teaching Award from UT
Communication Studies Associate Professor Courtney Wright was one of four University of Tennessee faculty members to receive a 2021 Excellence in Teaching award. The award is bestowed by the Office of the Chancellor and the Teaching Council of the Faculty Senate to honor outstanding work in the classroom.

Wright joined the faculty in 2008. 2020 Chancellor’s Honors Banquet
Students from the College of Communication and Information received 48 accolades from the 2020 Chancellor’s Honors Banquet.
Though the awards ceremony was canceled this year, the annual spring program honors students, faculty, and staff on the University of Tennessee campus for professional and academic achievement, as well as community service.

2019 Chancellor’s Honors
Thirty-one CCI students and one faculty member earned 40 total awards at the annual Chancellor’s Honors Banquet, which was held April 16.
Chancellor’s Professor Carol Tenopir was named the Macebearer, the University of Tennessee’s highest faculty honor celebrating a distinguished career and a commitment to students, scholarship, and society. Tenopir’s research in information sciences has been cited more than 10,000 times and has garnered more than $10 million in funding.
Senior Journalism and Electronic Media major Elizabeth Longmire was one of just seven graduating seniors who earned the university’s highest student honor of Torchbearer.

A number of CCI students were recognized for their outstanding work at the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet held April 17, 2018. Three CCI Students Receive Torchbearer Awards
Three CCI students – Rilwan Balogun (JEM), Cierra Burdick (CS) and Kelsey Keny (JEM) – were among the nine outstanding UT students named as Torchbearers at the 2015 Chancellor’s Honors Banquet on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. A number of other CCI students were also honored for outstanding achievement along with two CCI faculty members – AdvPR Associate Professor Lisa Fall and JEM Professor Sam Swan (see below).
