Sara Jané

Sara Henrique Jané is a first-year PhD student with a concentration in journalism and media at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she also serves as a graduate teaching assistant and research assistant. Originally from Brazil, she earned her BA in Journalism from Methodist University before moving to the US in 2025 to complete an MA in Sports Journalism at Indiana University.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Sara built a professional background in sports broadcasting, writing, and digital media, working at events such as Formula 1, the Indy 500, the Rose Bowl Game, and the NCAA Men’s Final Four, among others. Her current research focuses on global sports communication, communication strategies of sports institutions, and sports media framing.
