Careers and Advising
At the College of Communication and Information, our advising and career services staff work collaboratively to support students’ academic and career success.
Supporting our students every step of the way
At the College of Communication and Information (CCI), the Office of Advising and the Office of Professional Development provide support and resources for students throughout their academic and career journey.
Working with these offices, students gain a better understanding of their personal and professional goals , receive help navigating degree requirements and developing an academic plan, explore career options and industry-specific opportunities, and receive support transitioning into their chosen career.

Academic advising
CCI’s academic advisors support students through their academic journey. Advisors work closely with each student to tailor academic plans and support career exploration and growth.

Career prep tools
CCI supports students’ career journeys by providing programming, career readiness education, and tailored support to achieve career goals, such as resume assistance and job search tips.

Internships & careers
We prioritize providing hands-on experiences for our students on campus while supporting them to pursue off-campus experiences to ensure they are career ready by the time they graduate.

Networking trips
Students expand their professional network and gain insights through exclusive CCI networking trips to major US cities such as Washington, DC, and New York City, where they connect with industry professionals and alumni leaders.
CCI’s Atlanta networking trip let me network with potential employers, gain an inside look into the operations and teams behind the world’s leading businesses, and grow a connection to a city I’ve always seen myself living in.
This incredible experience helped me clearly envision ways to develop my skills and knowledge to better prepare myself for the working world. I could not be more thankful to Professional Development, CCI, and our donors for giving students an accessible firsthand look into life beyond college.”
