Kathryn Fellhoelter

Kathryn Fellhoelter is an early stage doctoral candidate from Loudon, Tennessee, concentrating in journalism and media. She has two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Tennessee System, with one in agricultural communications and one in journalism and electronic media. Kathryn also received her master’s from UT in communications and information with a concentration in journalism and media.

Her research interests focus on the digital divide and how it impacts journalism in rural communities. Kathryn has worked in the field of journalism as a morning news producer at WVLT in Knoxville. Her time in broadcast news has given her some insight into how modern journalism works and the current changes the industry is experiencing. These changes have inspired her to look more closely at the digital divide seen in rural communities, as these areas are the most likely to be affected by the push to prioritize digital media.
