Q&A With Kate Luffman
Senior journalism and electronic media major Kate Luffman had a dream of one day
photographing college athletics, and her dream became a reality when she started volunteering for Vol Photos, the photography team of the University of Tennessee Athletic Department. Luffman began as a volunteer student photographer in 2018 and has since been promoted to a staff student photographer.
You may also recognize Luffman through her creative game day paintings on The Rock, which often gather social media attention.

Students to Collaborate with ESPNU For Western Carolina Game
This weekend ESPNU will be in town to cover the Volunteers’ game against Western Carolina, but the game is not the only undertaking the sports station will be involved with while on Rocky Top.
Sixteen journalism and electronic media students will be assisting with the production of Saturday’s game, courtesy of ESPNU’s Campus Connection, a program designed to give ESPNU viewers the latest student-generated news from college campuses around the country. The program will allow students to work alongside the ESPNU staff to cover every position necessary for the timely broadcast of the game.

UT Students' Work Filmed In Croatia to Air Easter Sunday
Four University of Tennessee, Knoxville, students who spent two weeks in Croatia in March produced a 30-minute program while they were abroad. It will air on WBIR on Easter Sunday, April 20.
The program will be part of the UT TODAY show that airs at 11:30 a.m. It will be repeated on 10News2 at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21.

UT Senior Studies Journalism in Germany, Learns Value of Slower Pace
Eric Gedenk went to Germany to study post-WWII press systems, but came home having learned something else, too: There’s value in slowing down and appreciating the small things in life. Gedenk, of Chicago, Illinois, is a senior pursuing a double major in German and journalism and electronic media. He was in Germany from May 8 to May 26. Gedenk got the traveling bug his freshman year after he stumbled onto the opportunity to study abroad in Prague, Czech Republic.
