Diversity & Inclusion Week 2019 – Event Schedule
CCI Diversity and Inclusion Week is targeted at all members of the CCI community with specific focus on our 1,240 undergraduate majors. The 4-day event offers participants an opportunity to gain diversity skills and knowledge along with a chance to dialogue about diversity and inclusion issues and to share best practices by bringing together leaders and experts from inside and outside the college and university.

2019 CCI Diversity & Inclusion Week Schedule
The College of Communication and Information hosted its annual CCI Diversity and Inclusion Week from Monday, Sept. 23, through Thursday, Sept. 26.
“Reflect, Retool, and Reclaim” was the theme of this year’s week of panel discussions, keynote speakers, and dramatizations. Alice Wirth, Director of the CCI Diversity Student Leaders Society, was the organizer of the event, which is in its 10th year.
The in-person attendance across nine sessions and two keynote events totaled 1,084. Twenty-seven CCI undergraduate classes attended at least one of the sessions or panels.

CCI’s Diversity and Inclusion Week 2017 Recap
The College of Communication and Information’s eighth annual Diversity and Inclusion Week – September 25–28 – featured keynotes by UT Chancellor Beverly Davenport and Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero, nine panel sessions and a diversity festival.
More than 1,100 people attended the four day event, which dealt with a variety of topics including: mental health and media effects, being comfortable in your own skin, social media and trolling, immigration and respect for the America dream, respect for religion, free speech and politics, disagreeing in a civil fashion, and bridging hidden divides.The theme for 2017 was “Diversity and Inclusion: R-E-S-P-E-C-T.”

Respect Is Focus of CCI Diversity and Inclusion Week

2016 CCI Diversity and Inclusion Week to Feature Talk by Scripps Networks Interactive Executive
Scripps Networks Interactive human resources executive Alaka Williams will deliver the keynote address for the College of Communication and Information’s seventh annual Diversity and Inclusion Week, September 26-29, at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Williams’ talk begins at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, in McClung Museum Auditorium in Circle Park. The event is free and open to the public.
With the theme “Diversity and Inclusion: It’s Time,” the week will feature eight panel discussions and an open forum. 2015 CCI Diversity and Inclusion Week
The College of Communication and Information hosted its sixth annual Diversity and Inclusion Week September 28 – October 1.
More than 1,100 participants joined the discussions, dialogue and learning across the week’s 9 sessions, two keynotes and the Diversity Festival. The 2015 theme was “Unifying and Transforming Our World” with daily sub-themes of Unifying and Transforming: “Our Self,” “Our Home,” “Our Community” and “Our Workplace.”

CCI to Host 2013 Diversity and Inclusion Week
“Does Diversity Really Matter?” is the theme of this year’s Diversity and Inclusion Week, Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, hosted by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Communication and Information.
The four-day event will feature panel discussions on a wide range of diversity and inclusion issues. Rickey Hall, UT’s vice chancellor for diversity, will deliver the keynote address, “Does Diversity Really Matter?,” at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Communications Building Auditorium (Room 321).

UT Hosts Diversity and Inclusion Week
“Expanding and Understanding our Diverse World” is the theme of this year’s UT Knoxville College of Communication and Information (CCI) Diversity and Inclusion Week, October 1-4.
The week will feature panel discussions on a wide range of diversity issues, culminating with the CCI Diversity and Inclusion Festival, Thursday, October 4, in Circle Park.
