Online Master’s Program: Strategic and Digital Communication

Whether you’re looking to launch your career or forge a new professional path, our completely online master’s of science will prepare you for a career in the communications field and beyond. The Strategic and Digital Communication concentration is one of the only online master’s program in the country that includes content from all college-wide disciplinary areas in advertising and public relations, communication studies, information sciences, and journalism and electronic media. All classes are asynchronous, meaning you can fit lessons into your busy schedule.

Admission to the Online Communication Master’s Program

Students are admitted every semester, so you can enroll when you are ready. All undergraduate degrees are welcome. The GRE Test is NOT required for this online concentration.

Applicants must meet UT Graduate School academic requirements and apply online to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

CCI Application Requirements

  • CV or Resume
  • Written statement (400-700 words) of the applicant’s goals and reasons for pursuing the degree
  • At least three letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to judge academic and/or professional qualities. At least one of the persons should have knowledge of and be able to discuss the academic ability of the applicant.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) for international applicants

Advance Your Career on Your Time

The online concentration requires a minimum of 30 credit hours. Whether you want to manage websites or drive your company’s strategy on social media influencers, you pick the courses that will enhance your skills in the workplace.

The four schools in CCI are each offering three courses that focus on communication strategies and the digital marketplace. These interdisciplinary courses are standalone with no prerequisites. Two classes will be offered in the summer 2021 semester.

Most courses are three credit hours each. If you take two classes a semester, including summer session, you could complete this degree program in two years.
