Lionel Zehua Li’s curriculum vitae (PDF)
Lionel Zehua Li is a PhD student at the School of Journalism and Media. His research focuses on two areas: first, the issues of nationalism and gender in China’s online soccer culture, and second, the strategies and challenges of marketing women’s sports, particularly in terms of media representation and audience engagement.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in TV and broadcast journalism from Zhengzhou University and his master’s degree in communication from Wuhan University in China. Prior to beginning his PhD studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, he worked for various media outlets, including Tencent, Hunan TV, and Sina.
