Kelly Named UT Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs; Tenopir Named Interim SIS Director
Diane Kelly, director of the School of Information Sciences, was named UT Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs effective August 1.
Kelly did an outstanding job of serving as professor and director of the School of Information Sciences since 2016. Her accomplishments included leading the school to a 110 percent enrollment increase in the Master of Science in information sciences and the creation of a new bachelor’s degree in information sciences.

Kelly is New Director of School of Information Sciences
Diane Kelly, an internationally known information sciences scholar, is the new director of the University of Tennessee School of Information Sciences (SIS). She begins on August 8.
Kelly comes from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a professor in the School of Information and Library Science. Her research and teaching interests focus on interactive information search and retrieval, information search behavior, and research methods.
