CCI’s networking trips connect students with real-world career insights

The College of Communication and Information prepares students to be career ready through immersive networking trips to major cities around the country.

networking trips?

Every year, schools within the College of Communication and Information (CCI) organize networking trips as part of a commitment to deliver a best-in-class student experience at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Students tour businesses, agencies, and organizations where they meet industry professionals who take them behind-the-scenes to see what careers look like in the real world. This professional development opportunity puts CCI students one step ahead of competitors when they graduate and enter the workforce.

Director of Career Development

Dean Joe Mazer laughs after talking to a group of students in New York City during a networking trip.

Providing students with unique opportunities to network with industry professionals—especially our own alumni who want to support the next generation of Volunteers—will set them up for success after graduation. Giving our students a chance to see what their futures could look like means they’re more likely to enter a career they will thrive in, which is our goal as a college.”
