Program Details
A hands-on apprenticeship
The LEO Events Fellows Program is an exclusive and experiential one-year apprenticeship program associated with the Corporate Event Strategy, Promotion, and Production minor. The minor is open to undergraduate students interested in careers in corporate event management and is offered jointly through the College of Communication and Information and the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Students will develop and apply skills to effectively plan, execute, promote, and produce corporate events through hands-on training.
Requirements and benefits for fellows
LEO Labs: Engage in a series of specialized professional development sessions throughout the year with LEO Events and CCI’s Office of Professional Development.
Hands-On Experience: Gain practical experience by working alongside LEO Events at live events.
Personalized Mentorship: Benefit from one-on-one mentorship offering career advice, industry insights, and valuable networking opportunities
Selection process
Students will apply for the program through Handshake and complete a competitive interview process.
Faculty will refer students pursuing the Corporate Event Strategy, Promotion and Production minor that have a strong desire to follow a career in the events industry.
We are currently taking applications for the first cohort of the LEO Events Fellows Program. The deadline is Aug. 22, 2024.

Cindy Brewer (center), principal of LEO Events, is a 1991 CCI graduate and current member of the college’s Board of Visitors. Brewer, along with her partners Kent Underwood (left) and Kevin Brewer (right), are confident this partnership will provide an innovative and diverse approach to how entry level talent is educated and trained to enter the workplace in the field of event management and production nationally.
