Contact Information

Katelyn Grayson-Sneed is a teaching assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Sneed has also taught at the University of Dayton, Michigan State University, and Sinclair Community College. At Sinclair Community College, she discovered her passion for bolstering the experience of online students at the collegiate level. Her professional goal in her new role at UT as an online educator is to develop new ways to make the overall online learning experience better for students.

Sneed’s research focuses on interpersonal communication and health communication, specifically the provider-patient relationship. Sneed worked as the research assistant on a large Health Resources and Services Administration grant during her time at Michigan State University, where she created a patient-centered coding scheme based off of Smith’s patient-centered model. This coding scheme was then used to see how patient-centered communication affects patient satisfaction and ultimately, patient outcomes. Sneed hopes to continue her interpersonal communication research in a healthcare setting.
