Advertising Research Productivity Ranked Fourth Nationally
The School of Advertising and Public Relations is tied for fourth nationally and eighth globally for advertising research productivity in a recent study published by the Journal of Business Research.
The study examined visibility in journals articles on advertising from 2008-2019, primarily focused on the three prominent U.S.-based advertising journals (Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, and Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising) as well as advertising-focused research in communications, marketing, business, and broader interdisciplinary academic journals.

ABSMCC to Monitor Social Media Trends During Presidential Election
The College of Communication and Information’s Adam Brown Social Media Command Center will be monitoring the social media conversation and trends before, during and after the presidential election.
PhD student Alex Carter, the head graduate assistant in the lab, has been leading the center’s monitoring and coverage of the debates heading into the election.

CCI Presents at 2020 AEJMC Conference
Faculty and graduate students from the University of Tennessee College of Communication and Information (CCI) presented 10 peer-reviewed research papers at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication’s (AEJMC) annual conference, which was held virtually Aug. 6-9.
In addition, six CCI faculty served as panelists, moderators, and discussants during the conference.

Wonder what the world is saying about Hurricane Harvey and the havoc it’s wreaking on the Houston area and elsewhere?
There were more than 470,000 social media mentions of #HoustonStrong between August 28 and 31. You can check out the chatter for whatever is trending on the displays in the Adam Brown Social Media Command Center, in Room 460 of the Communications Building.
