VE provides students skills-based career experiences through hands-on projects and curricula. In VE, Misenheimer was able to create multiple websites for mock companies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sis.utk.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Kyler-Misenheimer1-525x700.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-202808\" style=\"width:221px;height:auto\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kyler Misenheimer at Bearden High School graduation holding up his diploma. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a competition-based program and I did pretty well in it. I liked it, the process of designing the website and then seeing the finished product, and it helped that it was a competition because I&#8217;m pretty competitive. I wanted to know how to get into it more in college,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Misenheimer is studying user experience (UX) design and is a part of the Information Sciences Club. He says the club is a great way to connect with upperclassmen and will provide opportunities for him to work on projects that he can add to his portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club is looking for more members to join and Misenheimer said it\u2019s not just for those interested in the field of information sciences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRight now, we&#8217;re doing a project about music. We&#8217;re forming a database of songs and categorizing them based on its intimacy in lyrics and how it transitions from more monogamous lyrics to more maybe Christian lyrics and then to more polyamory,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Misenheimer is also a part of the UT Rock Climbing Club, which meets twice a week at the Vol Wall. He\u2019s gone on several trips with the group to places including Kentucky and Chattanooga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sis.utk.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Kyler-Misenheimer3-edited.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-202810\" style=\"width:243px;height:auto\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kyler Misenheimer on a rock climbing trip with UT Rock Climbing Club.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Misenheimer says his dream job would be to work for a company that allows him to travel so he can combine his love for design with his love for rock climbing.
