However, mother nature has a few tricks up her sleeve on Thursday. A double-wallop of strong to severe storms followed by a drastic drop in temperatures hit Knoxville on Thursday. Heavy storms rolling through East Tennessee felled trees and downed power lines. According to the statistic, due to the Halloween storms, nearly 23,000 Knoxville Utilities Board customers were without power.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1120\" src=\"https:\/\/utccismcc.utk.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2019\/11\/cold-wether-4-300x209.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"434\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1121\" src=\"https:\/\/utccismcc.utk.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2019\/11\/cold-wether-5-300x229.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"447\" height=\"342\" \/><\/p>\n<p><sub>Knoxville Utilities Board Twitter.<\/sub><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCrews have reduced outage numbers to 2,042 and will continue to work through the night to restore power quickly and safely to all customers. On Oct.31, \u00a0storms sent a tree into a van, two people inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital. Southbound lanes of North Broadway at Jacksboro Pike was closed for hours. According to today\u2019s report, a 79-year-old man died from his injuries.
