The UXL offers a full range of UX research services for university, government, and private organizations to understand and ensure that tools and interfaces meet users\u2019 needs and expectations. User eXperience Lab space includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Approximately 900 square feet <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two participant rooms connected to an observation room with a one-way mirror<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up for single-user studies <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reception area <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The UXL was established in 2008 by the School of Information Sciences, with participation from Oak Ridge National Laboratory. It became part of the User Experience \u2013 Message Effects Core Facility in 2018. This equipment is designed to be portable, and is useful for studies looking to gain insight into how users physiologically react to stimuli and environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>User testing tools:\u00a0 <\/strong>Tools to conduct usability studies testing a product&#8217;s ease-of-use from a user\u2019s perspective.
