As soon as you are ideating around a grant-funded project or participating in a non-CCI proposal, <a data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8686\" href=\"https:\/\/cci.utk.edu\/ric\/researchers\/tap-the-torch\/\">Tap the Torch!<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>At least one month before sponsor deadline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Register for submission management portals (e.g., Fastlane, grants.gov, ASSIST)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>No less than 10 business days* prior to sponsor deadline<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit all proposal documents to the <a href=\"mailto:ric@utk.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RIC office<\/a> whether or not the PI has worked with RIC to develop the proposal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RIC reviews the documents, consulting the PI as necessary, to prepare the most complete and compliant documents possible.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>No less than 5 business days* prior to sponsor deadline<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>RIC uploads the documents to <a href=\"https:\/\/osp.utk.edu\/cayuse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cayuse<\/a> as a submission to ORIED&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The budget documents (including subcontractor documents) and supporting documents MUST be in final form at this time. See <a href=\"https:\/\/research.utk.edu\/research-administration\/proposals\/proposal-submission-deadlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DRA Proposal Deadlines<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To enable direct submission support in portals (e.g., research.gov, grants.gov, ASSIST), give access to RIC.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*does not include weekends, staff holidays, and administrative closings<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Research Proposal Development Resources<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cci.utk.edu\/ric\/services\/irb-guide\/\">IRB Guidance<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>External Funding Databases\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/research.utk.edu\/proposal-support\/toolkit\/research-tools\/pivot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pivot<\/a> is a comprehensive, searchable database of funding opportunities and research profiles.&nbsp; Opportunities include federal, non-federal, foundation, and private opportunities, both domestic and international.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grants.gov\/web\/grants\/search-grants.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grants.gov <\/a>is the most comprehensive public source for information on federal funding opportunities.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ithenticate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iThenticate<\/a> plagiarism tool.
