That\u2019s according to Associate Professor of Journalism and Electronic Media Nick Geidner, who produced and directed the documentary film <a href=\"https:\/\/news.utk.edu\/2020\/03\/04\/ut-dolly-parton-film-national-debut\/\"><i>The Library That Dolly Built<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy one-and-a-half-year-old, Sam, who makes some cameos in the film, loved the first episode, especially at the end when Dolly sang \u2018I Believe in You,\u2019\u201d Geidner said. \u201cHe loved the woo-woo-woos in the song, but I also think he loved it because it is the song we play under the credits of our film.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first episode, featuring Parton reading aloud from <i>The Little Engine That Could<\/i>, has been viewed more than 300,000 times. In upcoming episodes, she will read from her own works as well as from a selection of classics such as <i>Llama Llama Red Pajama<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Geidner\u2019s film was crewed by 15 student members of Land Grant Films, an Emmy-nominated documentary production program housed in UT\u2019s School of Journalism and Electronic Media. The students were able to interview Parton multiple times for the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the things we really wanted to show in the film is that although many people work together to make the Imagination Library happen, there are parts of the program that are uniquely Dolly,\u201d he said. \u201c<i>The Little Engine That Could <\/i>is the first book every child receives in the Imagination Library and that was completely Dolly\u2019s doing, so it was so great that that\u2019s the first book she read for this series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The national premiere of Geidner\u2019s film, originally set for this spring, has been rescheduled for the week of September 21, which also is the Imagination Library\u2019s 25th anniversary. New episodes of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/3ia-ozHDaLs\"><i>Goodnight with Dolly<\/i><\/a> will be available each Thursday evening on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/imaginationlibrary\">Imagination Library<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/dollypartonmusic\">Dolly Parton<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/DollywoodTN\">Dollywood<\/a> YouTube channels.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Dolly Parton\u2019s new 10-week bedtime-story series Goodnight with Dolly under way, the honorary UT alumna is doing her part to comfort kids all over the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.
