Through a mix of student and professional media organizations based on campus, students have a number of opportunities to develop real-word experience as a student.  Join a team and hone your skills through hands-on opportunities producing content for clients and audiences alongside seasoned media professionals. Ablaze Magazine<\/em> is a student-powered magazine publication that covers women’s topics and feminist issues. The magazine’s goal is to empower women on campus who are Ablaze’s<\/em> ideals and values. The magazine’s contributing team is made up of a diverse group of students who have a variety of interests, come from an array of backgrounds, and have infinite ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Daily Beacon<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Daily Beacon<\/em> is the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s editorially independent student newspaper, which is managed, curated, and produced by students. The paper is editorially independent and is entirely written, produced and managed by students. The Daily Beacon is published weekly on Wednesday’s during the academic year and online every day. There are endless opportunities for involvement for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Land Grant Films provides students with real-world experience in documentary storytelling while providing local non-profit organizations with videos assets that can be used to raise awareness and funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lumos Media Services<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lumos is a commercial production unit whose team members are current undergraduate and graduate students who produce professional-grade video and still photography media that meets customers’ needs and gives team members critical skills for the working world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Volunteer Channel<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Volunteer Channel (TVC) is a student-run television station at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, that allows students to get hands-on experience in many aspects of the Television and Film industry. Students learn about pre-production, production and post-production while volunteering with TVC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WUOT 91.9<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

WUOT 91.9 FM is a member of NPR and an affiliate of the Public Radio Exchange and American Public Media. Serving listeners throughout East Tennessee and parts of Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia, the station’s primary format is news, classical, and jazz music. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and streams online. WUOT’s second audio channel, WUOT-2, is available on HD Radio, internet radio, and on the web.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
