\nAfter graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2012, Chelsea Ivens moved to Washington, D.C. to begin a career in the political sphere. Her experience on Capitol Hill began with an internship in U.S. Congressman Phil Roe\u2019s office, where she received a behind-the-scenes look into the nation\u2019s political nucleus. This internship launched Chelsea into the world of public policy and federal government.<\/p>\n
In 2013, Chelsea\u00a0eagerly\u00a0accepted her first job working for\u00a0U.S.\u00a0Congressman Marsha Blackburn of the 7<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/sup><\/span>\u00a0Congressional District of Tennessee. \u00a0While working for Congressman Blackburn, Chelsea\u00a0turned her focus to\u00a0policy research and analysis\u00a0and\u00a0legislative correspondence. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In 2014, Chelsea accepted a position off the Hill working in government relations for the private correctional facility CoreCivic.\u00a0\u00a0In this role, Chelsea utilized her experience in policy analysis and communications to serve as a liaison between company executives and members of Congress to help educate policy makers of the company\u2019s benefits and initiatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n When Congressman Blackburn announced her bid for Tennessee\u2019s open U.S. Senate seat in October of 2017, Chelsea moved to Nashville to serve on the campaign\u00a0as Blackburn\u2019s Deputy Finance Director. In this role,\u00a0Chelsea\u00a0assisted in developing the\u00a0financial strategy\u00a0for the campaign\u2019s\u00a0statewide\u00a0fundraising efforts, including\u00a0coordinating\u00a0events with the President and Vice\u00a0President of the United States. \u00a0Blackburn\u2019s historic win in November of 2018 makes her the first woman to serve as a U.S. Senator from the state of Tennessee.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
