Jessica R. Frampton is an assistant professor in the School of Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Broadly, her research program examines communication\u2019s role in the experience and management of close relationship stressors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much of her work falls within the context of communication technology, as she considers how perceived affordances of technology influence the evaluation of relational information, use of information management strategies, and choice of communication channel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also considers how people\u2019s relational expectations or meaning frameworks impact their experiences. Her main line of research is focused on jealousy, but other work explores issues related to break-ups, abusive relationships, and uncertainty stemming from life transitions. In her studies examining these stressors, she uses several methods such as surveys, experiments, content analyses, and in-depth interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
