The fall meeting of CCI’s Board of Visitors on Sept. 21 and 22 generated creative ideas, enthusiastic engagement and lively discussion about the College’s future. Led by BOV Chair Bonnie Carroll, the board received a briefing from CCI School and program directors and from student leaders. CCI Dean Mike Wirth provided a state of the College update, answered questions and collected valuable input from the lively discussions. The full list of CCI Board of Visitors members can be found at www.cci.utk.edu/bovdirectory.
Saturday morning’s meeting included breakout discussion groups focused on the following areas:
- Alumni Relations and Development
- Communications & Publicity
- Internationalization and Study Abroad
- Research and Technology
- Student Enrichment and Professional Engagement.
Each group brought its ideas and two action recommendations back to the larger group for discussion by the full BOV. As a result, CCI’s leadership has a set of actionable and strategic ideas to help deal with immediate challenges and opportunities facing the College. “The diverse background, experience and education of our board members provide the College with an extraordinary resource,” said Wirth. “We are very fortunate to have this knowledge base at our disposal and to have a great group of alumni and friends willing to engage by giving the College a significant commitment of time, talent and treasure.”
