Award-winning journalist and longtime ABC News correspondent John Quiñones will deliver the inaugural College of Communication and Information (CCI) Distinguished Lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center Auditorium on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Quiñones has spent more than four decades telling stories that explore the people, issues and ethical questions shaping our world. He joined ABC News in 1982 and has reported for 20/20, Nightline, Good Morning America and World News Tonight, covering major national and international stories from Central America to the Middle East.
He is perhaps best known as the longtime anchor of What Would You Do?, the acclaimed ABC series that uses hidden-camera scenarios to explore how people respond when confronted with difficult ethical choices.
Throughout his distinguished career, Quiñones has earned seven national Emmy Awards and numerous other honors for his reporting. His work reflects a deep commitment to journalism’s power to inform audiences, spark meaningful conversations, and explore the complex choices people face.
The Distinguished Lecture Series reflects CCI’s commitment to bringing leading voices in communication and information to campus and creating opportunities for students, faculty, and the broader community to engage with influential journalists and ideas.
