The UT Public Speaker Center has now opened a location in John C. Hodges Library. This location is in addition to the Public Speaking Center at the College of Communication and Information-room 260. The Public Speaking Center serves as a source of supplemental instruction in research, composition, delivery, self-recording, and self-evaluation for visitors from all disciplines on the University of Tennessee campus.
The library location offers a space to simulate a classroom presentation experience. Individuals can record their speech using a gorilla tripod and work with an instructor to reflect on how to improve. The location also offers a privacy partition wall if students would prefer to practice on their own.
The new library location (220G North Commons) is opened the following hours:
Monday: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Tuesday: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Wednesday: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Thursday: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
