Professor Sally McMillan presented “Spending, Spinning, and Being Social: New Rules for the Persuasion Game” at the spring semester UT Mic/Nite, March 13 at the Relix Variety Theatre.
Assistant Professor Sifan Xu co-authored a paper, “Expanding and Repositioning the ‘Ease of Interface’ Dialogic Principle: The Role of Affordances in Digital Dialogue and Engagement,” which received the top faculty paper award from the Public Relations Division of the International Communication Association (ICA). The paper will be presented in May at the ICA annual conference in Washington, D.C.

Interim CCI Associate Dean for Research and Chancellor’s Professor Carol Tenopir and CICS research associate Jordan Kaufman (MS/IS ‘18) appear on the cover of the March issue of Publications, the journal of research about scholarly publishing. Tenopir, Kaufman, and doctoral student Lisa Christian’s paper, “Seeking, Reading, and Use of Scholarly Articles: An International Study of Perceptions and Behavior of Researchers,” is featured in the issue.

Howard Distinguished Endowed Professor of Media Management and Law and Beaman Professor of Journalism and Electronic Media Stuart N. Brotman was an invited presenter at the annual Internet Law Works in Progress Conference at the Santa Clara University School of Law on March 2.
