Professor Eric Haley has been chosen as President-Elect of the American Academy of Advertising (AAA), the leading international organization for the advancement of advertising scholarship, education and practice. He is currently serving as Vice President, and will assume his new role during AAA’s annual conference, March 28-31 in Dallas, Texas.
INFORMATION SCIENCES
Associate Professor Wade Bishop presented his paper, “The Data Life Aquatic: Oceanographers’ Experience with Interoperability and Re-usability,” co-authored with assistant professor Carolyn Hank and Joel Webster (MS/IS ’18), at the 14th International Digital Curation Conference held in Melbourne, Australia, this week. Hank also presented a lightning talk, “Dead, Dormant, Zoetic: Modeling the Blog Lifecycle,” and is an organizer of the IDCC’s inaugural Unconference.
JOURNALISM & ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Professor Peter Gross’ article, “The Fresh Spring of Ignorance” on Eastern European governments’ journalistic restriction trends, was published in Transitions Online in January and republished this week in Romanian weekly magazine Revista 22.
