JEM Junior Selected for Carnegie-Knight News21 Program JEM junior Sophie Grosserode was selected to participate in the highly competitive 2019 Carnegie-Knight News21 Program. Arnold Cohen Named 2019 CCI Diversity Award Recipient The College of Communication and Information will present Knoxville attorney and social justice pioneer Arnold Cohen with the 2019 CCI Diversity Award at CCI’s 11th annual Experience Diversity Banquet. The banquet will be held on Friday, February 22 at 7 p.m. at Buddy’s Banquet Hall in Knoxville. Cohen, one of Knoxville’s leading voices for racial justice, sees fighting discrimination on any basis as both a moral obligation and a strategic necessity. Find out more.

JEM Professor and Former Director Gross Retires Journalism & Electronic Media Professor and former director (2006 – 2016), Peter Gross, retired at the end of January after 12 and one-half years of distinguished service to CCI and UT. UT Alumnus Behind Some of Your Favorite Stories New York Times bestselling author Chris Grabenstein earned his BS in communication in 1977 from the College of Communication and Information. While attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, the Chattanooga native acted in dozens of plays and contributed to the Daily Beacon as an editor, columnist, and cartoonist.
