Professor Dania Bilal was an invited speaker on a panel at the 2018 Association of Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, November 11-14. Her talk, “Youth’s mental models of search engine results pages (SERPs),” was based on a collaborative research project withY. Zhang (U. of Texas, Austin).  

Bilal was also an invited mentor at the ASIS&T 2018 Doctoral Colloquium.

Doctoral student Iman Tahamtan and co-authors S. Sedghi, M. Roudbari, and M. Haseli, Shormeij (all of Iran U. of Medical Sciences) had their article, “Accessibility and types of online sources cited in scholarly biomedical journal in Iran,” published in Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal).


Howard Distinguished Professor Stuart N. Brotman has been appointed as a Tsinghua Law School-International Law and Technology Interoperability Association Fellow, the first American to receive this honor. 

Professor Peter Gross had his article, “Opening the Samizdat Time Capsule,” published in Transitions Online,
