Professional representatives, including many CCI alumni, from broadcast stations, cable and internet programmers, retail and sales businesses, government agencies, sports teams and many more came to CCI’s annual Job and Internship Fair on October 25 in Thompson Boling Arena. A total of 258 students participated (4 graduate students, 121 seniors, 70 juniors, 37 sophomores and 26 freshmen.)
The students came “interview-ready” with resumes in hand and dressed for success. CCI Director of Internationalization and Outreach and JEM Professor Sam Swan coordinated the event with the UT Center for Career Development’s Leslie Poynter.
The students gained valuable interview experience and learned about the variety of employment options available upon graduation along with internship opportunities. They also got a clearer picture of what it takes to be more attractive to employers in a competitive job market.
“We strongly encourage CCI alums to have their organization participate in future CCI job and internship fairs,” said Swan. “The benefit for our students is immeasurable as is the benefit for the employer.” Those interested in finding out more can contact Swan at 865-974-5123 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
