Alumni News September 2017The world premiere of Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, a Nickelodeon movie based on the book by Chris Grabenstein (BS/JEM ’77) aired on Monday, October 9, 2017 and is available for download at www.nick.com. Grabenstein’s latest book, Mr. Lemoncello’s Great Library Race, was also recently published.
 
Ryan McGee (BS/JEM ’93), ESPN senior writer, received his third Sports Emmy as producer/writer for “Outstanding Studio Show – Weekly, ESPN’s College Gameday – Football.” His previous Emmy’s were in 2006 and 2007 for his NASCAR Productions/Speed Channel – Live Events Turnaround.
 
Larry Patrick (MS/C&I ’73), managing partner of Patrick Communications and Legend Communications, was inducted into the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information Hall of Fame on September 28, 2017.
 
Chris Slemp (BS/JEM ’90), an anchor/reporter known as Chris Lawrence for the West Virginia Radio Corporation, was named the 2017 winner of the National Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast for his extensive coverage of the devastating 2016 West Virginia floods. He is co-host of the West Virginia Morning News on the MetroNews Radio Network.
