INFORMATION SCIENCES
Professor Suzie Allard attended the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations Board of Directors (NDLTD) meeting August 6 – 8, 2017. She is currently serving as co-chair of the membership committee. Allard has been on the board since its inception 20 years ago.
Allard was an invited attendee to the National Science Foundation’s Research Coordination Network Cyberinfrastructure Workforce Workshop in Washington DC, August 13 – 15, 2017. 55 cyberinfrastructure experts and organizational experts, including 5 officers from NSF, from across the country met to develop research collaborations and strategic directions to address the imminent need for a cyberinfrastructure workforce
Allard served as a panel member on Publishing: The Long Journey for the inaugural meeting of the Best Practices in Publishing certificate program for graduate students co-sponsored by the UT library and the UT Graduate School, September 5, 2017.
Allard is also serving on the search committee for UT’s vice chancellor for research, engagement, and economic development.
JOURNALISM AND ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Howard Distinguished Endowed Professor of Media Management and Law and Beaman Professor of Communication and Information Stuart N. Brotman is invited expert panelist for the Broadband research in a changing world: New technologies, ideologies and priorities workshop to be held at American University Washington College of Law, Washington, DC, September, 10, 2017. The workshop is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
Gloria Greenfield, JEM artist in residence, president of Doc Emet Productions with JBS Television announced the North American Television premiere of Body and Soul – The state of the Jewish nation as a part of the JBS weekly Jewish Film Festival, September 10, 2017, 9:00 p.m. and midnight EDT and September 15, 9:00 p.m. EDT.
