Alumni News August 2017Fred Cowgill (BS/JEM ‘79) received an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Ohio Valley Region for his part in the WLKY-TV team coverage honoring Muhammad Ali.
 
Natalie Manaeva Rice (PhD/C&I ’15; MS/C&I ‘10) was selected as a finalist for the 2017 YWCA Tribute to Women Award in the category of Arts & Education. Rice works for the UT Institute for Nuclear Security. The winners for each YWCA category will be announced at the annual gala to be held September 14 at the Bijou Theater in downtown Knoxville.
 
Mary Beth West (BS/PR ’94), CCI Honorary Board of Visitors member, has been elected to PRSA’s prestigious College of Fellows, an honorary organization within PRSA comprised of 350+ senior practitioners and educators who have left a significant footprint on the public relations profession. Shali Zhang, PhD (MS/IS ’88), new CCI Board of Visitors member, was elected to the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions’ (IFLA) Journal Editorial Committee.
