Alumni News June/July 2017Monica Abbott (BA/CS ’08), professional fastpitch softball pitcher, was the subject of a Sports Illustrated @SInow article by Kelsey McKinney, “The Case for Monica Abbott.”
 
Cathy Ackermann (BS/PR ’71), president and CEO of Ackermann Public Relations and Marketing and CCI Board of Visitors (BOV) emeritus member, was recently selected to serve on SmartBank’s Local Board of Directors in Knoxville.
 
Dan Hellie (BS/JEM ‘97), NFL Network sportscaster will be one of the new broadcasters for Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on Fight Pass.

Mary Beth West (BS/PR ‘94), CCI Honorary Board of Visitors member, had her op-ed piece appear in the June 28 issue of the Wall Street Journal.
