COMMUNICATION STUDIES

Congratulations to Stephen Spates for successfully defending his dissertation, “Exploring workplace connections of employees with multiple role expectations:  Accommodating communication behaviors of hospital chaplains.” Thanks to his dissertation chair Associate Professor Michelle Violanti and his other committee members: Associate Professor Ken Levine,
Associate Professor Laura Miller, and Associate Professor Kathleen Brown (CEHHS).

INFORMATION SCIENCES

Doctoral student Iman Tahamtan, along with co-authors N. Mohaghegh, M. Zarghani, (both from Iran U. of Medical Sciences), A. Ghasghaee and S. Mousavi (both from Tehran U. of Medical Sciences), had their article, “Assessing knowledge translation in Iranian medical research centres,” published in the International Journal of Information Science and Management.

Professor Peter Gross gave the keynote address, “Fake news and the digital media: A mutually enforcing relationship,” at the International Conference on Digital Media at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania on May 25, 2017.  Additionally, he participated as a panelist, a juror for competitions and a trainer in workshops during the remainder of the conference. Gross had his article, “Push the alarm bell already,” published in Transitions Online on June 2, 2017.
