Jackie Cavnar (BS/PR ’94), chief operating officer at Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee, received the Hercules Award from the PRSA Nashville Chapter at its annual Parthenon Awards Dinner on May 8, 2017. The award recognizes: career accomplishments in the field, including contributions to PRSA, the profession and the community; the quality and effect of one’s professional work; the example set by ethical practices; and demonstration of professional leadership.
LIVES RESTARTED, a documentary produced by Brand Squad President and Creative Director Jerry Ehrlich (BS/Comm ’73) and his production partner Waheed AlQawasmi of WA Films, won the coveted Telly Award of Excellence for Social Issues from over 12,000 worldwide entries. The Brand Squad has won Telly’s almost every year since the company was founded in 2008. Please see the links below for additional information about the documentary.
Whit Lee (BS/JEM ’98), LexisNexis executive director legal software solutions and strategy APAC, is one of the 12 judges for the 2017 Legal Innovation Index. Legal Innovation Index seeks to provide national recognition to the most innovative firms and legal teams in Australia and New Zealand through initiatives that deliver uniqueness and value to their clients and differentiate their organization.
Peyton Manning (BA/CS ‘97), former NFL quarterback, has been selected to host the 25th ESPY Awards on July 12, 2017. The ESPY’s will be televised live on ABC.
McNeely Pigott & Fox Senior Partner Mark McNeely (BS/JEM ’70) and his MP&F team won 36 Awards (15 Parthenons and 21 awards of merit) at the Nashville chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s 32nd annual Parthenon Awards Dinner on May 8, 2017. MP&F also won nine awards of excellence and five awards of merit at the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Music City Gold Pen Awards’ annual ceremony on May 18, 2017.
Wendell Potter (BS/JEM ’73), author/journalist and consumer advocate, was the guest speaker at a ceremony honoring UT Chancellor’s Honors Program spring graduates on May 12, 2017.
