CCI Students/Alumni Play Key Role in UT’s World Record Power T

World Record Power TSeveral CCI students and alumni played key roles in UT’s successful Guinness World Record Power T. It all started with third year digital producer for The Daily Beacon and JEM junior Altaf Nanavati, who created the pitch video that caught the attention of Al Roker and the NBC Today Show staff.  JEM junior Tala Shatara was featured in the video. Advertising freshman Kate Luffman painted the Rock to welcome Roker. Video and Photo Director Russ Hollingsworth (BS/JEM ’86) and PR Promotions Manager Katherine Saxon (BS/PR ’10) represented CCI alums on the staff. Some other students helping with the production were JEM senior Peter Bautista, PR Senior Hayden Cheek, JEM junior Justin Crawford, PR senior Alexandria Dodson, PR senior Shelby Locke and C&I Master’s student Catherine Willis. Many faculty, staff, students and alums made it to Neyland Statium by 5:30 a.m. to be a part of a massive Power T enabling UT to shatter the world record for the largest human letter.
