Congratulations to Alicia Ransom for successfully defending her dissertation. Thanks to her dissertation chair Professor Eric Haley, and her other committee members: Professor Ron Taylor, Associate Professor Amber Roessner, and Associate Professor Kathleen Brown (Public Health). The title of Ransom’s dissertation is “Direct-to-physician advertising, depression, and the advertised female patient.”

Associate Professor Michael Palenchar and Bernardo Motta (PhD/C&I ’09/U. of South Florida-SP) will present their paper, “Right to know as a foundation for ethical practice: A reinterpreted and expanded public relations code of ethics,” at the International Public Relations Research Conference in Orlando, FL, March 8 – 12, 2017. He will also be attending a board of directors meeting of the US Commission on Public Relations Education.


Assistant Professors Carolyn Hank and Wade Bishop presented their paper, “Data curation readiness for bio-collections,” at the 12th International Digital Curation Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland.
