INFORMATION SCIENCES
Associate Professor Bharat Mehra, Assistant Professor Wade Bishop, and Robert Partee II’s (MS/IS ’16) article, “Small business perspectives on the role of rural libraries in economic development,” was published in The Library Quarterly: Information, Community, Policy, 87(1), 17-35.
Mehra also published a book chapter, “Cultural re-interpretation of race/ethnicity and sexuality: A gay South Asian “voice” from between a rock and a hard place,” in Celebrating the James Partridge Award: Essays Toward the Development of a More Diverse, Inclusive, and Equitable Field of Library and Information Science(Advances in Librarianship Series) edited by Diane L. Barlow and Paul T. Jaeger, Emerald Group Publishing Limited.
Bishop presented “Job analyses of earth science data scientists” at the Earth Science Information Partners winter meeting in Bethesda, MD, andpublished an invited essay, “A safe, helpful, and ubiquitous place that requires further study,” in a special issue of Public Library Quarterly on the future of the public libraries.

Professor Julie Andsager presented a lecture, “Social media, science communication, and public opinion,” at Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) on January 4.
Professor Peter Gross had two articles published: “’The New “Normal:’ Romania’s Latest Political Crisis” in Social Europe, https://www.socialeurope.eu/; and “Predict the development of the media in Romania only after it occurs” in Revista 22.
