Assistant Professor Emily Paskewitz along with A. O’Connor (U. of Minn.), D. Jorgenson (N.Dakota S.U.), and J. Rick (U. of Missouri) had their article, “How changes in work structure influence employees’ perceptions of CSR: millionaire managers and locked-out laborers,” published in the Journal of Applied Communication Research on Feb. 18, 2016.



Associate Professor Bharat Mehra is the editor of a recent issue of Library Trends entitled “Social justice in library and information science & services” and authored the introduction, 64(2). Two of Mehra’s previous works were presented at the UT Faculty Appreciation Week Diversity-Related Research and Creative Activity on February 24, 2016:

  • Mehra, Assistant Professor Wade Bishop, and SIS master’s student Robert Partee presented their poster, “Community partnerships to further the role of rural public libraries in small business economic development: A case study of Tennessee.”
  • Mehra and Rebecca Davis (PhD/C&I ’15) presented a poster, “A framework to evaluate diversity representation on academic library websites in state universities in the United States.”



Howard Distinguished Professor Stuart Brotman will deliver his fifth annual invited lecture at Stanford Law School on Feb. 26, “New technology developments in entertainment and media law.”

Brotman also had the following articles published in recent weeks on

“TechTank looks ahead to 2016,”January 19, 2016 – with Kevin C. Desouza and Niam Yaraghi;

“The real digital divide in educational technology,” January 28, 2016; and “Antonin Scalia’s telecommunications legacy,” February 22, 2016.
