Associate Professor Courtney Wright is one of nine UTK faculty members selected to deliver a lecture for the spring semester Haslam Honors Faculty Friday Lecture Series. Wright will deliver her lecture, “Examining the Darker Side of Interpersonal Communication” on February 19, 2016.


Professor Sam Swan will be working with four students and one faculty member from the University of Zagreb, Croatia over the next two weeks in conjunction with a U.S. Department of State grant. The Croatian team will produce a documentary about the March 1 US presidential election primary. Other CCI faculty assisting with the workshop are: JEM Professor Mark Harmon, JEM Assistant Professor Nick Geidner, ADPR Associate Professor Courtney Childers and ADPR Assistant Professor Abbey Levenshus.

Howard Distinguished Professor Stuart Brotman has been selected for membership in the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching in Intellectual Property (ATRIP). ATRIP, the premier association of academics who work on intellectual property-related research and teaching, has about 10 percent U.S. membership and Brotman is the first from UT.

“Teach a Man to Fish,” the documentary about Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, produced by Assistant Professor Nick Geidner and directed by Clinton Elmore has won an Award of Excellence at the 2016 BEA Media Arts Festival. Students Hannah Marley and Maxwell Baker also worked on the project.
