Howard Distinguished Professor Stuart Brotman will host a doctoral class on entertainment and media sector issues of the European Commission’s Digital Single Market Strategy in Copenhagen March 16 – 18, 2016 at Aalborg University.

Brotman had four essays about the 1996 Telecommunications Act published on February 8, 2016, the twentieth anniversary of the signing of the act: “Congress and the Internet: Silence As a Policy Choice” in Morning Consult; “The Telecommunications Act of 1996 Struck the Right Federal-State Balance of Power” in InsideSources; “Twenty Years after the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Rekindling Congress’s Political Will” in The Hill; and “Was the 1996 Telecommunications Act Successful in Promoting Competition?” on the Brookings Institution blog.

Assistant Professor Amber Roessner presented her paper, “Jimmy Who? The Rise of a Peanut Farmer from Plains and the Fall of a Rabbit-Bitten President,” as part of the “The President, Persuasion, and the Press in the 20^th Century” panel session at the annual conference of the American Historical Association, January 7 – 10, 2016 in Atlanta.
