CCI Teams with Tennessee Association of Broadcasters for Annual Tailgate

2015 CCI TailgateThe College of Communication and Information once again teamed with the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters (TAB) to host its annual Tailgate Party for CCI alumni and friends on Saturday Nov. 7 just prior to the UT/South Carolina game. The event was held in the Communications Building lobby and featured a BBQ feast.

CCI Dean Mike Wirth and Director of Development Patrick Powell emceed the Big Orange Give Away drawings as they greeted alumni and friends during the two hour event.

Neyland Stadium as seen from CCI PatioGuests got a premium view of the stadium prior to the game. Despite the earlier rain, the weather cleared enough by the time of the tailgate for guests to check out the recently opened CCI patio that overlooks Neyland Stadium and the Tennessee River. Needless to say the view is spectacular and makes for a perfect backdrop for a game day photo.

The Tennessee Association of Broadcasters serves its broadcast station members by offering training and resources to help its members satisfy FCC and other government rules and policies. TAB also provides legal and legislative information, industry advocacy and public education programs to support the free broadcast industry in the state of Tennessee.

“TAB is a natural partner for CCI because many of our alums are TAB members, and we are very grateful to them for sponsoring CCI’s annual tailgate,” said Powell. “We look forward to teaming up each year to serve our constituencies and to reconnect as professionals in a relaxed atmosphere.”

TN Newspaper Hall of FameThe 2015 Tailgate was the first alumni event held in the college since the completion of the Tennessee Newspaper Hall of Fame interactive display and the CCI Patio. For those unable to attend this year’s tailgate, you have an open invitation to stop by the college at any time to check out our new facilities.
