Professor and CCI Associate Dean of Research Suzie Allard authored this year’s Library Journal annual placements and salaries survey article. Her analysis and insights about the data provide a compass for readers to explore the report.
Allard also attended the WC-WAVE (Western Consortium for Watershed Analysis, Visualization and Exploration) annual meeting October 6 – 8, 2015 as a part of her role as an External Advisory Board Member.
Assistant Professor Devendra Potnis’ peer-reviewed mini-track proposal, “Managing ICT4D field research in the developing world: Challenges, opportunities, & innovative solutions,” has been accepted for the “ICTs in Global Development” track at the 22nd Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) to be held in San Diego, August 11 – 13, 2016.
Associate Professor Erin Whiteside’s chapter, “Applying the gatekeeper influence in sport communication model,” was published in the Routledge Handbook of Theory in Sport Management (2015).
WUTK will hold a fund raiser concert for the station Friday, October 30 at 9 p.m. at The Concourse in Knoxville. The show features Knoxville rapper Lil’ Iffy in his next-to-last concert appearance, ever.  Also on the bill for this 18 and over show will be local bands Gamenight, and The Billy Widgets.  A minimum donation of $5 is requested for entry, with all proceeds benefitting WUTK.  The station is also hosting a benefit craft beer dinner Monday, November 2 at Sunspot Restaurant on The Strip at 6:30 p.m. for those 21 years of age and over.  A limited number of reservations for the five course dinner are available. Call (865) 637-4663 for more information and to make your reservations.  There will be valuable door prizes at this event, and proceeds from the $50 tickets benefit WUTK.
