Associate Professor Bharat Mehra, Cheryl Ann Lambert (PhD/C&I ’08), and Kathryn Logan Brooks (IS graduate student) presented, “An exploratory action plan in diversity management at multiple levels for the academic library to support female African American graduate students,” at the 2015 Conference on Inclusion and Diversity in Library & Information Science (CIDLIS), College Park, Maryland, October 15–16, 2015.
At the same conference SIS Interim Associate Director and Assistant Professor Kimberly Douglass and Mehra presented, “Evaluation of e-government online information resources for families of children with ADHD: An information map and user profiles to extend the advocacy role of public librarians.”
Assistant Professor Devendra Potnis’ Reynard Regenstreif-Harms’ (IS graduate student) paper, “Transforming LIS students into a mobile workforce for 21st century libraries,” has been accepted for presentation at the “Accreditation & Emerging Competencies” at the Association of Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) annual conference to be held in Boston in January 2016.
WUTK was voted “Knoxville’s Best Radio Station” in the Knoxville Mercury’s inaugural “Top Knox readers’ poll.  WUTK deejays Chance Collins (DJ 1-Chance), Damian Messer, and Rob & Derek from The Funhouse were all voted as runner-ups to Hallerin Hilton Hill for Best Radio Personality. This is the tenth consecutive year that WUTK has been voted Knoxville’s Best Radio Station by readers of Knoxville’s free independent newspapers (Metro Pulse 2006-2014, Blank Newspaper 2015, and Knoxville Mercury 2015).  WUTK beat out WDVX, WUOT, and WIVK for the top spot in this year’s poll.
