COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION & INFORMATION
CCI Associate Dean and CS Professor Joan Rentsch, JEM Professor Catherine Luther, AdvPR Associate Professor Lisa Fall, and IS Associate Professor Bharat Mehra made presentations as part of a panel, “From classroom to boardroom: Best practices to enhance our students’ diversity and inclusion experiences,” at the UT Collaborators for Change Diversity Summit. This year’s theme was: Ideas into Practice. The summit was held at several locations around campus on Friday, September 25, 2015.
WUTK 90.3 will celebrate College Radio Day on Friday, October 2, 2015. The special programming begins at 7 a.m. Exciting announcements, live interviews, and in-station musical performances will be featured as part of this fifth year of participation. Listeners and alumni will also be encouraged to pledge their financial support to the station.
SCHOOL OF INFORMATION SCIENCES
Doctoral student Danielle Pollock has received the American Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) SIG USE (Special Interest Group in Information Seeking and Use) Travel Award. The competitive award will be presented at the ASIS&T Annual Meeting to be held in St. Louis, Missouri in November.
JOURNALISM & ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Professor Jim Stovall’s book, “Battlelines: Gettysburg: Civil War Sketch Artists and the First Draft of War (Volume 1),” is now available from First Inning Press. The book displays many never-before-published drawings of the professional artists who were eye-witnesses to the war.
