Professor Candace White and Iulia Kolesnicov (Ph.D. candidate at Aarhus University in Denmark) had their paper, “Nation branding in transitional democracy: The role of corporate diplomacy in promoting national identity,” accepted for the next issue of Place Branding and Public Diplomacy. [White met Kolesnicov in Romania while she was a visiting scholar in fall 2013].
INFORMATION SCIENCES
Chancellor’s Professor and BOV Professor Carol Tenopir has been selected as a Fulbright Specialist to the University of Tampere, Finland. She will be in Finland most of September, working with the University of Tampere Library and the School of Information Sciences and will return later to present results of the work started in September. The purpose of the project is to enhance the understanding of library customers’ needs and strengthen collaboration between the library and researchers.
Assistant Professor Devendra Potnis had his research article, “Six types of inequalities creating eight economic barriers to owning mobile phones in India: Investigating factors responsible for the gender digital divide,“ accepted for publication in Information Development Journal. He was also invited to present his research on “Project management for IT-driven development of disadvantaged communities in the developing world” at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research, management science, and analytics.
