Bonnie Carroll, founder and chief executive officer of Information International Associates (IIa) and long-time CCI Board of Visitors member, received the Woman-owned Small Business Award for fiscal year 2014 from the US Department of Energy (DOE). Carroll received the award in June at the 14th Annual DOE Small Business Forum and Expo in Phoenix, Arizona.
The award recognizes the exceptional performance of a woman-owned small business directly contributing to the accomplishment of core DOE mission objectives and requirements.
John Hale, III, director of DOE’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, presented Carroll with the award. See the Oak Ridge Today story at http://oakridgetoday.com/2015/06/30/doe-names-iia-woman-owned-small-business-of-year/.
“Bonnie Carroll has been an exceptional friend to CCI and IS,” said CCI Dean Mike Wirth. “She and her husband, Roy Cooper, have provided gifts for scholarships, faculty fellowships, sponsored internships, hired graduates and provided wise council for our students and faculty. It comes as no surprise that her corporation would be recognized on a national level for exceptional stewardship and performance as a community leader. We congratulate Bonnie and her IIa team on this wonderful accomplishment!”
