Travis Parman (BS/PR ’94), director of corporate communications at Nissan Americas, served as one of the lead speakers during UT Outreach’s National Coming Out Week. His lecture, “Selling ‘OUT’: The Rise of Marketing to LGBTQ+ Consumers,”; was delivered on Thurs. Oct. 9 at UT’s Black Cultural Center; and his seminar, “Making Your Brand ‘Buy-Sexual’”: Building Loyalty with LGBTQ Consumers,” was presented on Fri. Oct. 10 at Hodges Library.
Tre Jordan (BS/ADV ’13), Assistant Account Executive at Y&R Advertising in New York, was part of the Y&R team that created AdWeek’s October 2 “Ad of the Day” (http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/ad-day-new-york-city-dying-yrs-gorgeous-organ-donor-psa-160517). The ad has also been featured in Fast Company, Little Black Book, and Ad Age along with other industry publications. The PSA “ad” titled “Long Live New York” is designed to inspire New Yorkers to step-up as organ donors. New York is ranked 49th with respect to the percentage of state residents registered as organ donors.
