Associate Professor Bharat Mehra  will present, “A framework to evaluate diversity representation on academic library websites in state universities in the United States: An exploratory study, ” a co-authored paper with C&I doctoral student Rebecca Davis, at the 6th International Conference on Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries QQML in Istanbul, Turkey, May 27-30, 2014.



Professor Mark Harmon, AdvPR Professor Roxanne Hovland and AdvPR Assistant Professor Jin Seong Park have had their research paper, “Cultivating consumers not citizens: A cross-atlantic comparison of the affluenza hypotheses,” accepted for presentation at the European Communication Research and Education Association convention this November in Lisbon, Portugal. 

The Green Eyeshades Awards honor excellent journalism in the Southeastern U.S.  In the student bracket, The Daily Beacon picked up two honors.  Claire Dodson won best science/research reporter in the South.  R. J. Vogt won Best Columnist.  In the professional portion of the contest, the Knoxville News Sentinel garnered eight awards, including a third place in Serious Commentary for Professor Mark Harmon.

WUTK has been named one of the top 20 college radio stations in America.
